In the old google reader, spacebar worked as "show me next item", it would be nice if it worked also here.

Thanks so much for you suggestion - that's a great idea!

At the moment, the spacebar is used to scroll down the page.

You can go to the next item using the keyboard shortcut J. To get started, just click on the item you'd like to start with and press J and you can view the next item. If you'd like to go back to the last item you viewed, use K.

These shortcuts work everywhere in FlowReader, not just the Reader tab.

Do these shortcuts work sufficiently for what you had in mind? And are there any other shortcuts that you'd like to see us add? I'm still definitely going to bring your request up with the team for discussion.

Thanks!

Spacebar scolling down the page is browser default, that's not your feature :)
I know I can use J and K for navigating, but the spacebar is much more easily accessible when you're not looking on the keyboard. You can reach it very quickly by touch and don't have to verify that you're on the right button.
It also eases the transition from competition tools.
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply it was our feature but just wanted to clarify that's how we use it in case you didn't know :). When we first released shortcuts, the spacebar was originally used to expand and close items, which was eventually removed due to usability issues.

I see your point about the accessibility of the spacebar, and I'll make sure to pass this on for the rest of the team to discuss.

We've had a lot of discussions about the best shortcut to navigate through items, so I really appreciate you sharing your perspective with us :).
