Merging of news from many sources

Martin Štekl 6 years ago updated 6 years ago 4
Let's say I follow some account on Twitter and also on Facebook. Sometimes they differ but many posts are the same. The same article can be published on Facebook account and I can see it in RSS too.

I would like see only one entry in timeline with some possibility to show all variations. It would be useful within my other posted idea about one timeline for all news.

Thanks again for sharing your ideas! I'd like to ask you a couple more questions if you don't mind :).

Do you mean that the news item would only be shown once with a note about other places it's been shared?

Or, would the item be shown on Facebook, Twitter, and RSS with the different source variations?

I'm looking forward to hearing more!

As you say I would like to be shown only one source at first (do not know how to choose the one) and some note about other places where it appears. The information itself is the important thing here. If I want to know where else it was shared I can do one more click but usually I do not need it.
Thanks for explaining that for me! Now, I can fully explain it to the rest of the team so we can discuss it further :).

In the meantime, I thought this might also be helpful for you. You can choose to view a stream separately by selecting a network or your reader in the left hand column.

  • Social will show you a combined feed of your connected networks.
  • You can select either Facebook or Twitter to view them separately.
  • Reader will only show you the RSS feeds you have added (without any social content). From there, you can  click on separate categories and individual feeds to view their items separately.

Here's a screenshot:

Hope this helps!

Thanks again for taking the time to discuss this with me! I really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot! I know about these possibilities in the panel and I use it because it works relatively well.
